Brad Pitt on tap for All You Need is Kill adaptation

Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s intense sci-fi novel All You Need is Kill, is heading to Hollywood, and Brad Pitt’s name is being tossed around as the leading man. Doug Liman, who directed The Bourne Identity is behind the project, and I have to say I’m pretty excited. I really couldn’t care less who’s staring in the flick, but the story lends itself really well to a big budget film adaptation.

Any thoughts? You hear about all these supposid Hollywood anime/manga /light novel remakes on a daily basis nowadays, with really nothing really coming together. I’m not going to hold my breath on this one, but I can hope. If you haven’t picked up All You Need is Kill, I highly recommend the read.

Ranma 1/2 is going to be a live action drama

Wow, talk about blast from the past! Rumiko Takahashi’s classic sensation Ranma 1/2 is going to be made into a two hour drama, to be aired on NHK in December. I’m pretty excited to see some sex changing, animal changing, hot water tossing, kung-fu battles! I’m a bit worried about the category “drama”, as there may be some liberal editing to get this to fit the genre a bit. However, I get a feeling with Ranma being such a nostalgic hit, the producers may be wary to upset that old school crowd.

What do you guys think? Do you think they might be able to pull this off? Actor Kento Kak is playing male Ranma, while Natsuna Kishimoto is going to be the female role. Haven’t seen Ranma 1/2? Get on it immediately!

First Impressions: Squid Girl season two

This is it people. The second invasion has begun. The all-powerful Squid Girl has returned to take over the world and damn does it make me excited!

We’re finally starting to see some of the offerings from the new Fall season, so it’s time to start giving our opinions on the up and coming new shows. Final Impressions: Sacred Seven

I’ve kept my expectations pretty low with Sacred Seven. While I had a good first impression of the show, it has waffled between incredibly fun and insubstantially boring. There was a lot of time wasted in the middle of the series with attempts at story development that came off more as a desperate attempt to pad out the show to 12 episodes. Despite this, I’m looking forward to how the whole thing would end. I expected a fairly long fight with a happy ending, leaving things open for an inevitable second season since this is Sunrise we’re talking about. It’ll be pretty, but all together unsatisfying.

One Piece My Ball Stamp isn’t as painful as it sounds

Fan of playing a few rounds of golf? Always losing your balls? Tired of getting your balls mixed up with your friends balls? Well then, there is an unfortunately named product simply beckoning for your hard earned pennies. It’s called the ‘One Piece My Ball Stamp,’ and yes, it does exactly what you think it would do.

Actually, in my case, the last statement is probably false. Moving on.

The stamp itself comes in two flavours. The first is the ‘Clue Stamp,’ which features character art for some members of the Straw Hat Pirates. The other and potentially more exciting option is the ‘Jolly Roger Stamp,’ which you can customise to show your name. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a link to the pricing of this product, so if anyone should stumble upon it, let the rest of us know!
